The Benton City Council created the Commission by Ordinance 46 of 2004 to manage the city's electric, water and wastewater systems as Benton Utilities.

Five Benton residents, appointed by the City Council, who oversee the long-term planning of Benton Utilities.
Meetings are open to the public
Regular meetings are held the first Monday of each month at 6:00 p.m. If that Monday is a holiday, the meeting moves to Tuesday evening.

Current commission members
Commissioners are unpaid citizens who serve five-year terms. They must live in the City of Benton. Successors are nominated by the Commission and confirmed by a majority vote of the City Council.
